Transplant 2 Day 16

Another day in the books here in Room 210.  Another day of waiting for engraftment.  Another day in the Lord's care.  Hemoglobin numbers are at 78, so I am hoping for 2 more days before transfusion.  Platelets fell to 11 from 14 so I expect a transfusion will be required tomorrow.  Still no whites, which would be the indicator of beginning engraftment.

Doctors and nurses were all pleased with my stats today and I'm feeling well.  Other than my extremely curly grey hair, I'm looking alright.  So we had a quiet day in the room.  Barb came at noon and we played some games.  We had a visit late in the afternoon with my brother, John, and his wife, Teresa, which we really enjoyed.

From our evening devotions:
"Affliction ploughs and opens our hearts, so that into our innermost nature the truth penetrates and soaks like rain into the ploughed land.  Affliction, when sanctified by the Holy Spirit, brings much glory to God through the believer's experience with the Lord's faithfulness."  We can certainly agree with Spurgeon here, when we look back on our last year on how the Lord has granted us peace, rest, comfort, trust, and courage.  He has been faithful!  It's been outside of ourselves and our strength -- it is the Lord's doing.  For that we praise Him.

Thinking of you all....time may seem like it is unnecessarily dragging...but it has a purpose that only God knows at this point. Praying that He in His wisdom gives results and direction in dealing with those results. God knows best, for all of us.
