PH 284:3 from Psalm 136
He helped us in our deepest woes, His grace abideth ever;
He ransomed us from all our foes, His mercy faileth never.
Each creature's need He doth supply, His grace abideth ever;
Give thanks to God, enthroned on high, Whose mercy faileth never.
The psalm is set up just like the setting of the song, proclaiming God's great works, followed by praising Him for His mercy. How can we not do the same, proclaiming what the Lord has done, and praising Him for all the love He has shown us? As His children we can do no other thing than praise His Name.
Platelets were still low today so for the 16th straight day received a transfusion. Hemoglobin was steady and my whites were up .1 to .6 What a beautiful number to see, two days of increase. The rest of my issues remain similar, loss of appetite, nausea, and liver function. My hematologist oncologist was in today, and he checked me over pretty well. They will continue to monitor the liver very closely, but the physical symptoms of the disease they are worried about he could not find. A good blessing. He said as a team they were disappointed that the first signs of engraftment took longer than they had expected, and cautioned me from getting to eager for the numbers to climb. Continue with patience and living day by day. It is a lesson that must be learned here. I have spent 27 days in this little pink room, and the Lord had blessed me with patience and a good disposition. That blessing has also been extended to my family, even though it is a time of great stress and emotional duress. We thank you for your continued prayers in that regard for us too.
Prayer requests
1. Give thanks for two days of increase.
2. Give thanks for daily patience and rest in Him
3. For continued blessing on the engraftment process.
4. For healthy liver function.
5. For continued blessing on my family.
I wish all a blessed Lord's Day. I will leave you with one of my favourite hymns, sing with me while you read.
PH 408 Great is Thy Faithfulness
1. Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not;
As Thou has been Thou forever wilt be.
Refrain
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided,
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
2. Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Refrain
3. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Refrain

Thanks so much for you updates Richard! That is one of my favourite hymns as well. Great is HIS faithfulness! Praying for you and your family.

We are SO thankful for the encouraging numbers - God IS faithful! (and even if the numbers didn't come up, He'd still be faithful!)
Love that hymn too - especially the promise in the 3rd verse - "Strength for today, and bright hope for tomorrow..." It's easy to jump ahead and start worrying about tomorrow's issues, and tomorrow isn't even here yet; but God already has it taken care of! I read a quote today: "We should never attempt to bear more than one kind of trouble at once. Some people bear three kinds - all they have had, all they have now, and all they expect to have." Edward Hale SO true!
Praying for a peaceful night, and a thankful Sunday and Monday.
Good evening, Richard.
As the LORD has blessed you with a strong faith, He also uses you as an instrument for the strengthening of the faith of others. Joanna and I continue to remember you and your family in our prayers. We are so grateful for God's faithfulness - it is indeed great! May you also continue to see His mercies new every morning!
All the best and God bless!
Chris and Joanna
Wonderful to see the white count tick up ever so slowly! You remain in our prayers, especially now that you are on Day 18...and are still waiting for (more) signs of engraftment. Thankful with and for you that we are carried day by day, and that in His time all things will come to pass. Hours and weeks here on earth are but a blip of time in His eyes, yet He has promised to sustain us through it all.
Wishing you a good Lord's Day.
