Transplant + 11

A pleasant day in the unit today.  Slept well, ate not bad, received my daily boost of platelets and was pleased to go another day without blood transfusions.  A person likes to think that it means something that I have gone 3 days in a row without transfusions.  The doctor said no.  There is still no white cell count and platelets are every day at lowest reading they can give.  Until we see a uptick in whites or stabilizing in platelets, we have not arrived in engraftment stage.  But on a positive note, I have had a sore on my lip since the first week and it just won't heal.  It is improved the last couple days and that he said was a good sign, not proof of anything but a pointer to things to come.

We would like to thank Chuck and Jeremy and Julie and the other guys who put so much work in doing flooring in the house and so many other jobs Barb found for you.  Our heartfelt thanks.  Thank you to a large group of ladies from the church who came today to have a cleaning blitz.  I hear the house looks amazing and  smells clean in every way.  Thanks for doing that so that Barb can have time to see me.

This Barb did this afternoon and we were able to play two games of Scrabble.  In the first I was humiliated and in the second beaten soundly.  The nurses want to play Barb, I don't seem to be a challenge.

I want to wish all a blessed Lord's Day, in the true fellowship of the saints in the worship of God.  Barb and I will be listening to services on CD.

PH 326 vs 3,4

Grant us Thy peace, Lord, through the coming night;
Turn thou for us its darkness into light;
From harm and danger keep Thy children free,
For dark and light are both alike to Thee.

Grant us Thy peace throughout our earthly life,
Our balm in sorrow, and our stay in strife;
Then, when Thy voice shall bid our conflict cease,
Call us, O Lord, to Thine eternal peace.
