Another amazing day I have been given. My white count continues to jump with the Neupogen, and today it was up to 4.2. The first neutrophil count was at 2.8, way above what they expected. A wonderful blessing. My hemoglobin and platelets are still flat but at least stable. I had another shot of Neupogen today and one more planned tomorrow. By Tuesday, they expect my white count to drop in half (after not receiving a daily neupogen shot) but the levels should still be above 1 and therefore, safe for me to be home. Kidney function has really improved. Liver numbers are still high and will need to be watched closely. Ultrasound showed that the liver was enlarged, as well as my spleen (symptoms of CMML). Over time, they should settle back with healthy blood counts. Anti rejection drug levels in my blood are getting more stable and they want one more look at that tomorrow, and if decent or in line with their expectations, I will be released. They gave me a 4.5 hour LOA today and Barb took me home for the first time in 32 days. It was absolutely wonderful. I was able to see my father for the first time since I was first admitted, a good blessing for both of us! The seasons have changed completely and the house as well. Thanks everyone who helped with that. Amazing indeed!
So here I sit back in my pink room, just plain stunned. Phase 1 is ending, and it has gone better than the doctors or I could have expected. The LORD has been gracious to me and my family. He has indeed been our refuge and our rock as He has promised He always will be. We have a long way to go yet, and we know that our God carries us. We do not know what the end result will be, nor will we for quite some time, but of this I am convinced - With my LORD I always win. So our prayer requests today are fairly easy, praise our God for who He is - our Creator, Redeemer, Lord and King, our refuge, our rock, our tower to whom we can always run. Praise Him for His tender care for us, and pray that we may continue to know Him as our loving Shepherd always and in all things.
I had an email that encouraged me with the words of a hymn and the basis of the song is Deuteronomy 33:25b "and as your days, so shall your strength be." The Lord provides for us each day what we need. I have a link here to the song on YouTube, please listen.

Great and wonderful news that you'll be going home. Hospital's are great places, but there really is no place like home.

Great news Richard. We are thankful for the good results and pray for a full and complete recovery. Grace and Bill
Wonderful news! Praise God. Up until now I haven't commented on all on your blog... but have following closely and holding you all in prayer! Having worked in haematology in the past and been nursing people through transplant it is always hard to know what to say. It is such a time of turmoil and fears and amazing recoveries! God has clearly blessed everything for you and made this journey go well! All glory to Him! Praying that He'll continue to bless you as you continue along this journey as an out-patient.
in Christ, Helen 't Hart
