I had a real good night's sleep, and woke up to snow flakes blowing by the window here on the 7th floor. It looked cool and blustery for most of the day from my vantage point. Inside it was nice and warm and held a good atmosphere as most of the family was able to visit again today, a real blessing for Barb and I.
Medically it was a quiet day with most doctors and technicians having the day off, so no CT scan yet. My bilirubin numbers are relatively the same as yesterday but Barb thinks I am more yellow looking. Platelets again today during breakfast and no blood today.
Early in the afternoon a cleaning lady came to clean my room, and a couple of my kids left to give her room. She asks me if I had a good Easter. Well a lot of my kids came to visit. Did you have a big dinner here. No, actually what I missed was going to church. She said that she had gone and her minister talked about a guy named Spurgeon. I picked up my book from beside my bed and we had a nice chat about Spurgeon. Never know where that can happen.
Mobility getting better. Feet improving and I am able to get to a standing position on my own and walk a bit using the IV pole as a walker. Not setting any records but much better than a few days ago.
A bout of nausea and vomiting just before supper time. Just what I need to encourage appetite.
It has been a while since I am the person sitting behind the keyboard. Thanks to Karen for help with me, and Mike for assisting yesterday. A pleasure to work with you both!
From my devotions this evening with Spurgeon again. "Our memory of God's goodness is often crushed by pain. When you suffer sharp pain, or weary aches, or a high fever, you tend to forget the days of health and strength. You only remember the sharp intervals of weakness and sorrow."
"May the Holy Spirit help your infirmities and bring His lovingkindness from past years to your memory."

Richard, and Barb, we continue to pray for you. It's encouraging to see that you could be the one behind the keyboard. It's interesting what Spurgeon wrote, because it's in contrast to.... when things are going good, we often forget the tough times. Either way, it's the truth, and hopefully we can always keep our trust in God (rather than getting pulled away). Sterkte.

Good Morning Richard, unusual for me to comment in the morning, saw your blog yesterday, but was busy with other things and not sure what to say...still not sure what to say... but thanks for your witness may God grant you complete healing and continued strength to witness God's goodness, with love and prayer cousin in Ottawa.
