It has been a difficult thing to prepare ourselves for coming back to the hospital to go for another transplant. Our hopes had been that the September transplant would have succeeded and we would be well on the way to strengthening and normalcy. The worry of the last months ending in the failure of the transplant, just to go right back and try again, compounds the stress.
This morning for our devotions Barb and I went back to the Spurgeon book and looked at Exodus 15:26 "your healer". Spurgeon writes "How sweet to feel that if God has sent diseases to your home He has made them a chariot in which blessings have been brought to you". What a wonderful way of expressing thoughts that we as a family have experienced and discussed. Amid the disappointment, sadness, treatments, life completely interrupted, we have seen some amazing things. The Lord has not disappointed us. He has granted us peace, faith, rest, trust and confidence in His promises. He hasn't left us alone through this trial. Yes, we constantly pray for healing and He has not yet granted that gift, and we know that He might not. We pray that He will be glorified in my life either by sickness or health, in life or death. We do not know His plan, but we trust it completely. We are His, and in life or in death our Lord will not leave us alone.
Continuing from Spurgeon "Do not go to wine for comfort in the hour of depression. Above all things, dread the intoxicating cup in all its forms. You need not even appeal to friends for consolation. What do they know about your inner sorrow? There are seas of suffering that the sufferer must navigate alone. No other sail is in sight. Scan the horizon and nothing is seen but wave after wave. Now is your hour for faith in the great Lord, who holds even lonely seas in the hollow of His hand (Is.40:12). He knows your poor body, and He permits it to be frail. He permits your heart to tremble because He will glorify Himself in His tenderness to your weakness. He will make you strong."
Very encouraging words for us today. We rest in the Lord's care. We had a very busy day today and I am not done yet. More of the medical side of life in tomorrow's post.

We as a family have been praying for you faithfully! There are no words we can say that will make it all better, but God's word alone can bring comfort and hope! Psalm 102, is especially beautiful!"He regards the prayer of the destitute and does not despise their prayer." verse 17 May God give you much strength in the days ahead!
“Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him.” (Mark 1:41)
We are praying for you as well. Faith in our Father in heaven is such a wonderful comfort and strength. Thank you for continually keeping us up to date and by so doing; encouraging us in our own faith.
