Transplant + 119

Had an appointment today at the cancer clinic.  The appointment was hours late, and my doctor said he was not worth waiting that long for.  Oh well. It was a good news day.  Platelets up to 50 from 43, WBC up to 2.2 from 1.9 and neutrophils at 1.8 up from 1.5.  Hemoglobin dropped from 84 to 81 but that was without a transfusion last time so I was pleased.  I was afraid of a larger drop there.  I am continuing on a high dosage of growth hormone to produce red blood cells for the foreseeable future.  With the increase in blood numbers and no sign of GVHD my next appointment is 4 weeks away, looking good.  My creatinine levels dropped which is good, and we hope as we continue to wean from anti rejection drugs that kidney function will continue to improve. I am now down to 1/3 rate of the drug, and will be at 1/5 in 4 weeks time.

I started with a cold yesterday.  Throat sore, upper airways a little congested, and runny nose.  The doctor today did a nasal swab to check for a flu and gave me instructions in case of fever and the like. No panic, just a reminder of procedure and let my new immune system go to work.

Exodus 19:4b "and how I bore you on eagle's wings and brought you to myself."  The picture of the Lord carrying and catching us as on eagle's wings are a picture of being held by His arms.  We have been seeing eagles on our trip home along the 402 all fall and winter.  On Jan. 2 we saw 2 eagles landing in their nest and another flying by Mt Brydges.  Today we saw 2 bald eagles in a field along the 402 by the Thames River.  Just beautiful.

Prayer requests
1.  Give thanks for improved blood numbers and kidney numbers.
2.  Give thanks for no GVHD
3.  That my new immune system will effectively fight all the colds and flu bugs out there.
4.  That my blood and energy levels will increase over the next weeks
