24 days post transplant and I am home!! What a good gift for us. I have had so many nurses in the last few days come by my room and wish me well. They had cared for me at some point in these 33 days and stopped by. They keep rotating the nurses through the four areas of the oncology floor. It shows the level of care received and I am thankful for it.
I needed to have blood transfusions today as well as platelets, their levels dropping slightly. I will be going back on Tuesday for blood tests and it is important to have the lower limits covered. By the time all that was completed, doctor visit and discharge, getting all the prescriptions filled and driving home' it was after 5 pm before we were home, and I am tired.
We stand amazed at our Lord's tender care of us until now. And we pray that we may trust Him going forward into Phase 2. More on that maybe tomorrow. Thank you too, the blog followers, and all who have brought us before the Lord in prayer. Thank you for your love, and we count on that too, going forward.
Joshua 1: 9 ESV "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
A good promise for Joshua, but for us as well.
In the house with a picture with the song "Great is Thy Faithfulness" printed on it.

You look great Uncle Richard! We are so excited to see the progress you've been able to enjoy. We continue to pray as we know that this is a journey not yet complete. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it through this blog. Enjoy your first night home in your own bed and non-pink walls. We are so thankful to God for the work he is doing in your life and in our life through sharing in this faith journey. We love you so much!

Praising God for His faithfulness to you!! When reading your blog, I'm reminded so often of His faithfulness to me and mine and I'm doubly blessed. Prayers continue for you and your family.
What a happy blog entry! You write that you are tired...but in that picture you sure don't look it! Love the pic of the tree with that song. Those words are fitting words in every situation, but never more so than when we experience trials and challenges.
Wishing you and your family some well-deserved 'down' time, and pray that things stay as good as they have been and that your numbers keep climbing up!
Won't your OWN bed be a welcome sight!
God Bless, the vanB's.
Richard,
What wonderful news. God certainly is good!
Heard on the radio the other day that bald men are perceived to be stronger, braver, and taller than those with hair. You certainly fit in well with that demographic. :)
We will be keeping you and your family in our prayers as you progress through this next phase.
Cheers,
George & Flo.
Great News; I hope that you sleep well. Although you may miss all the disruptions that nights in the hospital bring. Enjoy your time at home and may God speed your healing there.
