Transplant +1

Blood work this morning had all very good results in relation to the transplant from yesterday.  Any possible complications from different blood types did not show up.  The team was very pleased.  They expect that the stem cells, all 335 million of them, have found their way into my bones.  They are so confident, they gave me some more chemotherapy to work as a anti rejection agent.  The nurse that hooked me up called it a "stem cell chaser".  I will have that again on Friday and Monday.  Waiting will become an art form as we hope to see activity from the donor cells.

Meanwhile, I am entering what my sister Patricia calls the "dog days of chemo".  Lack of energy, tired, and general malaise, becoming a common theme.  The transplant team is quick to help with certain issues that crop up and for that I am thankful.

My "neighbour" is on Day 8 of an autologous transplant (his own stem cells), and is unable to eat anymore because of chemo effects.  Fighting infections and all the rest that goes with it.

To pray for rest in God's plan for our lives, also means patience for each days troubles, and the waiting.

Prayer needs:
1.  That the stem cells will engraft
2.  That I am able to avoid serious infection while my immune system is down.
3.  That I will be able to overcome side effects
4.  That as a family we may rest in God's plan for our lives.

Philippians 4:19
"And my God will supply every of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

My mom said 3 capsule or so of ginger will really help the symptoms of chemo. I'm sure your son will tell you about it...
