Welcome

Welcome family and friends to my blog.  We hope the use of this blog will be convenient for updates on my condition.  I hope also to be able to update our needs for prayer, as we covet the prayers of the saints.
The blog is also meant to be nice for us to communicate with everyone.  We will not be able to have visitors for quite some time, and the blog will be able to fill the role as best we can.  I intend to write myself as much as possible, but admittedly at this point I am not sure how that will all play out.  My daughter Karen will be my main partner in writing.

I have no illusions about the quality of my writing but I hope not only to give physical updates but also to give a glimpse into our hearts and minds as we fight this battle.  Our prayer is that our God will be glorified in our battle with cancer.  I think that sharing our hopes, struggles, fears and confidence as Christians may glorify Jesus. To do that in full honesty will be a difficult task, especially on those tough days when we are feeling low.  How wonderful to know that Jesus is that solid rock even when we are down physically, emotionally, and spiritually!!

The text that we have chosen for the blog page was picked after having read some Charles Spurgeon on these verses.  I had read this text the night before Dave and Bethany's wedding.  The picture is from Rock Point Provincial Park where we had camped with Mike and Rachel, their boys, and Karen.
